Understanding the Middle East Conflict

On 19 June 2026, SGPP Indonesia hosted an engaging campus discussion at the Equity Tower 40th Floor, featuring Gita Wirjawan, who shared his insights on the geopolitical and economic implications of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Drawing on his experience in diplomacy, trade, and investment, Gita walked the audience through the layers of the conflict — from its historical roots and shifting regional alliances to its ripple effects on global energy markets, supply chains, and the world economy. He also reflected on what these dynamics mean for Southeast Asia, and for Indonesia in particular, as the region navigates an increasingly multipolar world.
